NEP Team on Short List for Two 2020 Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards

NEP is thrilled to announce that their team has made the short list for two 2020 Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards.

Sean Mehmet, Solutions Architect for Media Solutions at NEP UK has been nominated for Best Young Talent. After graduating from Ravensbourne University and working as an R&D engineer for BT Sport, Sean joined NEP UK in 2017 as a Media Systems Engineer. He made a name for himself as an edit and ingest expert working on projects like the Winter Olympics and the FIFA World Cup. Quickly proving his ability, he was promoted to Solutions Architect for NEP UK's Media Solutions team in 2019.

NEP's DAZN team were nominated in the Technical Innovation in a Sports Broadcast Category for their work developing DAZN's radical new virtual production platform. In 2018, DAZN challenged NEP to come up with a technical solution to meet the needs of the rapidly growing business. DAZN needed to have greater flexibility in deployment; offer a shorter lead time to implement production services in new global locations; avoid resource waste; facilitate short term bursts in demand for production resource; help minimize replication of tasks and duplication of content; and support a “DAZN Anywhere” approach that would allow their teams to work remotely from any location, providing business continuity for content production in global locations.  NEP set to work, and hand in hand with DAZN embarked on an extensive exercise of requirement gathering and technical research. In the summer of 2019, almost a full year on, DAZN and NEP launched the first phase of this exciting new collaboration, an entirely virtual and fully managed production platform providing: Edit suites, Live Production suites, Remote commentary, Media asset management, Multi Frame rate Video ingest, Cloud storage, Intelligent Audio auto-mixing, Content sourcing & distribution, and 24/7 support & monitoring.
