doing our part in SUSTAINABILITY

We've committed to wiser use of our resources, purchasing our energy from renewable sources, meeting all applicable environmental regulatory requirements, and striving to improve our Project Earth initiatives.

In living up to our value of ‘Do Right,’ we strive to do the right thing by prioritising the development of environmentally conscious work practices and culture.

Looking to the future, NEP’s initiatives form part of our long-standing commitment to achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2030. Here are some of the main ways that NEP is combatting climate change and demonstrating its commitment to sustainability:

Assessing and reducing Our Carbon Footprint

We have partnered with Carbon Footprint Ltd to assess all our scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, including our supply chain, to continue to reduce our carbon footprint.

We are pleased to have achieved the CO2 Assessed Organisation certification, as we continue our journey towards Carbon Neutrality by 2030.

Business ISO / Accreditation

We are joining leaders in the change towards building a more sustainable future. We take pride in our attitude towards environmental responsibility, which has led to our ISO 14001 certification in environmental management.

ISO 14001 assesses how a company is taking actions to save energy, reduce waste, and follow all the relevant legislation regarding sustainability. It is globally recognised as a sign that an organisation is committed to doing business in a sustainable, environmentally friendly way.

ALBERT CERTIFICATION

NEP UK is an official accredited albert supplier – we also work with our clients to track a production’s carbon footprint. Albert’s certification scheme rewards companies who have taken active steps to reduce their production’s carbon footprint. By working with albert, we are contributing to their mission of driving positive change in the industry.

Our Initiatives

Switching our fleet to be powered by GD+HVO

We recently switched from using diesel to GD+ HVO (Hydro treated Vegetable Oil) fuel as an energy source for our OB (Outside Broadcast) fleet, as it has the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants by up to 80-90% compared to diesel.

Carbon Offsetting

Our main focus is to decrease our carbon footprint, but sometimes this alone is not sufficient. Therefore, we participate in a carbon offsetting program with Carbon Footprint and albert, which not only minimises our overall emissions, but also has a beneficial effect on communities globally.

Eliminating Single-Use Plastic

One of the main projects that has put our passion for the planet into action is eliminating single-use plastic (“SUP”) across the entire Host Broadcast Operation. NEP UK has supplied its own branded water bottles for employees, removing all plastic cups from offices and locations. A central water station is available on site for crew where they can refill their bottles/flasks.

Waste Management

The waste generated on location has been significantly reduced since the removal of single-use plastic bottles and paper cups. Recycling bins are also supplied on site to allow NEP’s waste to be recycled. In addition, the PVC tape to fix any cabling has been replaced by reusable Velcro straps to minimise any waste from the game.

Rethinking our Energy Use

We are committed to adopting an energy mix which is kind to the planet, so we invested in solar panels at our head office and have plans to invest more in renewable sources.

Commitment to Carbon Neutrality

Looking to the future, all of NEP UK’s initiatives form part of our long-standing commitment to Carbon Neutrality to combat climate change. This is a challenge we are anticipating with great excitement and continue to work closely with our clients to do our part to fight against climate change.
