Rise, the advocacy group aiming to promote gender diversity within the broadcast manufacturing and services sector, has announced 17 key industry women will be part of its inaugural mentoring scheme.

Each mentoring placement offers those involved 12 hours of contact, the opportunity to meet their mentee group on a monthly basis, and attend networking events and workshops throughout the six-month period.

Leading women within the industry offering their experience and guidance to the mentees include Anne-Louise Buick, vice president of global field and channel marketing at Avid; Lesley Johnson, home entertainment director and operations director at BBC Worldwide; ITV's director of operations, Helen Stevens; Julie Parmenter, managing director at Molinare; and Naomi Carter, head of production (factual entertainment), Mentorn Media.

“Rise believe that mentoring schemes not only encourages individuals to strive to become better at what they do but also supports and guides them through the stages of achieving their goals,” said Sadie Groom, founder of Rise.

“We have been overwhelmed by the number of people who applied for the scheme and thrilled to be able to offer our Rise mentees the experts that have signed up. This is going to be a great programme and we look forward to supporting the mentees careers and personal development.”
